Family Pictures 11/2009

Over Thanksgiving we took Casper family pictures down by the docks. We feel that the fishing in San Diego is such a huge part of the family that it would be crazy to not use the boats in a family picture. The girls (Andie and Lauren) were super crabby, and Brady and Molly were both quite sick. So between the 4 of them, we did the best we could with what we had to work with. I hope to have more pics by the end of the week of my two kids together. Thanks to much to our great friend Tony Corbell for always willing to take our crazy bunch on. One day we'll all come happy and ready to photograph!

Word of the Day

Snow Milk: Andie's 3 year old way of saying eggnog. It's quite festive don't you think?! Well the name has caught on in our house, used in a sentence one might say, "hey, while you're up, would you please get me a small glass of snow milk?"

Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Does anyone else just LOVE Christmas time?! I am sure I am not the only one. Some people say it is full of stress because of the traveling, seeing family, gift buying, Christmas programs, parties etc. but I love all those things. I am a huge fan of shopping, and call me crazy, but I don't even mind the crowds. I find it refreshing to see the crowds of people out shopping, I like to think that they too, still value the holidays with their families. During a time when everyone is so divided it seems that the holidays are something most still agree on.
The decorations! Oh, the decorations, they are the best. To see beautiful, tasteful decorations brings me such joy! It's nice to see that Christmas is still pure, meaning it hasn't been all sexed up like some holidays (ahem, *cough* Halloween). I love Christmas music more than any other kind of music. If you noticed, I even put up a Christmas playlist. One of our family's favorite things to do is to get the kids ready for bed, put them in the car and drive around to see the decorated houses. Last year Andie would exclaim, "Wow! Looks like a birthday cake!"
I have had a hard time here in San Diego trying to get into the Christmas spirit. I blame it on the lack of seasons. Coming from a white Christmas last year in Utah, to a sunny, warm one here, it's been difficult. Yesterday it was pouring rain all day AND it was cold, that was just what I needed to get me full of the Christmas spirit. I hope you are full of the spirit this holiday season and amid the stress and chaos you are remembering the true meaning of Christmas in your home.
From San Diego to where ever you may be, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

THANK YOU!

I was just online checking out the usual websites, you know, the same 5 that you check all the time hoping that something new has happened on at least one of them?! Or am I the only one who has no life and actually does that? Wow, I really should find something more exciting to do with my time. I have to say it is the ipone's fault. Before it came into my life, I would check my emails and networking sites once, maybe twice a day, but that wonderful phone has turned me into an obsessed Twitter/Facebooker! Speaking of which, did you know there is a site called Tweetdeck.com where the two (along with myspace) are together on one site. I used it for about two days, but then decided that I feel like I have a little more of a life if I can check two different sites as opposed to just one.
Ok, ok, ok, this is not what I jumped on the computer to blog about. So, as I was saying...I was checking out other people's blogs when I decided to check my Clustermap for the first time in months. I was so excited to see that my blog is now being viewed ALL OVER THE WORLD!!!
I just wanted to say a BIG HUGE "HELLO" to you there in:
Finland
Japan
France
Pakistan
Mexico
Brazil
India
Australia

I hope that you are finding something interesting and/or relateable to read here on my blog! I would love to hear from you, maybe how you came across my blog or just to say hello.

Wow, I have to admit I now feel huge pressure to actually blog about something interesting for once!
